Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) is a multi-disciplinary arts center located in Brooklyn, New York. For more than 150 years, BAM has been the home for adventurous artists, audiences, and ideas—engaging both global and local communities. With world-renowned programming in theater, dance, music, opera, film, and much more, BAM showcases the work of emerging artists and innovative modern masters.
BAM is currently seeking part-time Security Guard personnel that will be available on an on-call basis during our high-peak season. Security Guards will create a lasting impression for all of our patrons and visitors by offering a welcoming greeting upon entrance to our building. Under the supervision of the Lead Auxiliary Guard, Director of Security and the Security Manager, the part-time Security Guard will provide a safe and secure workplace for employees, vendors and visitors. The Security Guard will patrol the institution & perform access control. The selected candidate will be responsible for the protection of exhibits/displays, the building and its employees/visitors, institutional and personal equipment and its grounds.

Physical Requirements: In an emergency situation, the Security Guard is identified as an essential worker and must be available to work overtime or overnight shifts. Must be able to sit/stand for a long period of time. Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds. Minimal lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
Compensation: The salary for this position is $18.00 per hour. This position is part-time nonexempt and not eligible for benefits.
