Future Chefs (www.futurechefs.net) prepares high-school aged teens for quality employment and postsecondary opportunities in the culinary field and elsewhere and supports them in developing broad base transferable skills necessary for career success. With its primary focus on youth development, Future Chefs provides culinary and soft skills training and authentic hands-on experience, working with food professionals in some of Boston's high performing restaurants and food businesses. Aspiring cooks learn in an environment that promotes a growth mindset, personal responsibility and well being. Future Chefs' model is based on the belief that every student is unique, flourishes in settings that provide high expectations, opportunities to grow, and caring supportive relationships.
Future Chefs is a fiscally-sponsored project of TSNE MissionWorks (www.tsne.org).
The Culinary Arts Instructor will work collaboratively with the Future Chefs Program Team to refine and implement a work-based curriculum for two of the three Future Chefs programs, FC Prepares and FC Delivers. This position will also support the development and execution of the social enterprise Future Chefs operates to provide a platform for work-based learning. The position will include supervising and leading both kitchen and classroom-oriented activities and assisting with professional skills workshops at the Future Chefs kitchen space in Boston and offsite at external partner locations. The Culinary Arts Instructor is an essential member of the Program Team who tracks student progress through program-wide evaluation efforts.
