The Boch Center is one of the nation’s leading nonprofit performing arts institutions and a guardian of Boston’s historic Wang and Shubert Theatres. Through numerous education and community outreach initiatives, collaborations, and partnerships, the Boch Center strives to inspire and ignite greater appreciation for art, culture, and creativity. An award-winning ten-day festival, ArtWeek is a signature community initiative of the Boch Center that expanded statewide in Spring 2018.
The ArtWeek Associate will provide support in the general management of the festival which culminates from April 26 – May 5, 2019. This individual will report to the ArtWeek Manager as part of a seasonal ArtWeek staff team (including paid staff, interns, consultants, and volunteers) as well as the ArtWeek Community Engagement Manager, and work closely with the Marketing and Development teams as well as the Chief Strategic Officer/ArtWeek Lead Champion. The ArtWeek Associate is an entrepreneurial, detail oriented self-starter, a team player, and a strong communicator.
The ideal candidate has excellent organizational skills, is a good editor, is familiar with event management skills and comfortable trouble-shooting with a wide variety of event hosts and partners; is also familiar with marketing and promotional campaigns (print, radio, television, digital, outdoor); is comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as various social media platforms, etc. Does not get flustered working under tight deadlines and is very organized. This is a seasonal full-time job/5-month position starting on January 7 – May 31, 2019.
