Job Coach, Full Time, Customized Employment- Freeland, MD:

Penn-Mar Human Services, founded in 1981, serves more than 400 adults with intellectual disabilities through its residential, respite, educational, vocational and supported employment programs in northern Baltimore, Carroll and Harford Counties in Maryland, and in southern York County in Pennsylvania. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Job Coach for individuals in our MD Customized Employment.

Position involves working with individual/s in a Supported/ Customized workplace setting. Job consists of vocational training, behavioral and med support and providing transportation. Job Coach works with the individual's employment team to identify and develop plans to identify necessary supports and accommodations needed to be successful in the workplace. The successful candidate should have experience with the Autism spectrum, and associated behaviors. This position requires the employee to work independently, and interact with our individuals, their families and external support network.

Schedule for this position is typically Monday-Friday 7:30 am-4:00 pm with some evenings and weekends, OT as needed. Position includes transporting individuals. The work location for position is Freeland, MD.

Orientation/Training classes now available both day and evening times!


This job is inclusive of, but not excluded to the following duties:

  • Perform discovery and exploration opportunities to id career dreams, employment goals and interests.
  • Teach new skills to individuals working at job sites while further developing existing skills.
  • Work to develop natural supports at job site and assist employer with developing supports.
  • Communicate employee's progress to employment team, providing documentation as required.
  • Personal Care as needed
  • Behavioral Support as needed
  • Medication Administration (must be able to pass MD Medication Technician training)
  • Applicant must able to lift 50 lbs. as needed
  • Applicant must be able to stand, walk, sit, traverse, kneel, bend from the waist, etc., as needed.
  • Applicant must be able to communicate verbally, visually and audibly.
  • Basic Computer Skills


  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • Acceptable criminal background.
  • Valid Driver's License with 2 yrs. experience, and less than 3 moving violations (NO Major Violations, D.U.I.'s or Suspensions) in the previous 36 months.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment Drug Screen/ Physical/ Mantoux Test (PPD, TB).
