Project Search Coordinator-Full Time, Freeland, MD:

Penn-Mar Human Services, an Organization dedicated to 'Transforming Life to Living!' for adults with developmental disabilities, is currently seeking a Full-Time Project SEARCH Coordinator for our Maryland Community Employment Program.

The MD Project SEARCH Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership to Project SEARCH (PS) staff and assuring successful internships and employment outcomes for individuals receiving the services. It includes regulatory compliance, quality control, community outreach, budgetary oversight, supervising PS job coaches/skill trainers, coordinating supports for PS participants, leading and/or providing career discovery, planning daily lessons per program curriculum, and providing classroom instruction. Position reports to the Director of Community Employment & Consulting Services.

Schedule for this salaried position is typically Monday-Friday 7:30 am-4:00 pm with some evenings and weekends. The work location is Freeland, MD

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with PS partners to develop internship sites, rotations, job descriptions, and plans for necessary modifications.
  • Completes job site visits and progress reports for interns.
  • Assists with intern job development to find appropriate employment opportunities at the PS site and with community businesses.
  • Works with the PS team to identify employment opportunities for interns in assigned caseload.
  • Assists with PS branding and marketing initiatives.
  • Serves as a liaison between coach/skills trainer, staff of host business, family members, and DORS counselors.
  • Communicates with DORS regarding job placement/coaching and to secure funding.
  • Coordinates and schedules job supports. Provides skills training and job coaching to individuals whenever necessary including providing coverage for job coaches/skills trainers as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with CMS, DOL, DORS, and DDA rules and regulations.
  • Ensures quality supports/services are being administered.
  • Keeps progress notes and updates team members on progress of individuals.
  • Tracks and maintains data necessary for DORS billing, attendance billing, dashboard and grant reporting.


  • BA/BS Degree & 2 years related experience in Human Resources, Marketing, Business and/or Education preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Suite.
  • Acceptable criminal background.
  • Valid Driver's License with 2 years' experience, and less than 3 moving violations (NO Major Violations, D.U.I.'s or Suspensions) in the previous 36 months.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment Drug Screen/ Physical/ Mantoux Test (PPD, TB).
