Associate Director of Development, FT Glen Rock, PA and Freeland, MD

Are you a Development Professional ready for a more innovative and strategic role? Penn-Mar Human Services (PMHS), an Organization dedicated to 'Transforming Life Into Living!' for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, is seeking an Associate Director to plan, implement and manage strategies for cultivation, solicitation and closure of planned gifts and mid/major level gifts for a comprehensive fundraising program for the Penn-Mar Foundation, focusing on individual prospects with the goal of growing the endowments by 2020. 

This position resides within the Development Department of Penn-Mar Human Services and reports to the Chief Development Officer of Penn-Mar Human Services. The primary work locations are Freeland, MD and Glen Rock, PA.

Key Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Identify and evaluate the giving potential of gift prospects through personal visits and engagement in the philanthropic priorities that advance and serve Penn-Mar's mission.
  • Effectively plan and execute major and planned gift strategies to cultivate, solicit and steward individual major donors.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the programs and funding priorities of all aspects of Penn-Mar Human Services.
  • Develop excellent relations with Program Managers and Administrators in appealing to donors for PMHS.
  • Oversee research of individual prospects.
  • Develop annual fundraising goals and objectives in consultation with the Chief Development Officer, creating a development plan to research and identify new prospects, make discovery calls and build a prospect pool based on new prospects and past donors.
  • Schedule and arrange on-site and off-site meetings, visits, etc. with prospects, coordinate the participation of other PMHS representatives.
  • Provide stewardship reports to donors
  • Manages and provides financial reporting and updates for all activities by being proficient in Raisers' Edge or Luminate CRM (or similar donor management system). 
  • Maintains all donor information in database and works with Constituent Engagement staff to develop strategic plans for increased revenue based on donor analysis.
  • Prepare proposals and other cultivation and solicitation materials for significant donors.
  • Advise donors on gift planning strategies to maximize giving to PMHS.
  • Seek out opportunities to raise the profile of PMHS in the community.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Three years related exp. with one year of professional exp. required
  • Knowledge/proficiency in fundraising processes

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • Demonstrated successful exp. closing major gifts
  • Experience in planned giving
  • Ability to solve complex problems
