  Job Description

The mission of AIDS Services of Austin is to enhance the health and well-being of the community and people affected by HIV and AIDS. For more than 27 years, ASA has provided a continuum of services to the greater Central Texas area.

As a Client Services Specialist, you are the face that greets our clients when they walk through the door, helps them get the answers to their questions, and connects them to much needed resources.  In this dynamic position you will be the department expert on local HIV resources and ASA programming. With this knowledge you will be able to provide information that helps and supports our clients in moments of stress.  If you are passionate about directly engaging with the community and enjoy nonprofit work, then we are looking for you!

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • You are a professional juggler. You are experienced with multi-tasking, can handle multiple calls and in-person conversations at the same time. You greet everyone with a smile and respect no matter how much is on your plate.
  • You love being a wealth of information. You're an information sponge. You pride yourself on being a reliable source of information and for both clients and service providers.
  • You seek out new adventures. Every day is a different day in this role, with new puzzles, challenges and joys. When you have down time, you love thinking up new projects and ways to help our clients.

A successful Client Services Specialist must be willing and able to:

  • Work with people from a variety of backgrounds and personalities
  • Ask questions, learn new information, and hold institutional knowledge about our organization and services 
  • Provide clear information to clients and service providers
  • Operate according to programmatic standards
  • Function within the Agency's policies and Procedures as outlined in our Personnel Handbook

You have:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year applicable work experience.

Kudos for:

  • Experience working with individuals of diverse cultures, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and gender identifications
  • Some experience with reception positions, ideally in a health-related field
  • Bilingual/bicultural skills (English/Spanish)
  • Experience with MS Suite/ computer literacy
