Position Title: Academic Leadership and Education Fellowship
Department: Academic Affairs
Reports to: Senior Vice President
FLSA Status: Full-time exempt
Position Description Summary:
The Fellow will be responsible for working with AACP Vice Presidents and members to oversee and implement educational and practice innovation projects and programs related to the strategic priorities of AACP (specifically Priority #3 (Innovation in Education and Practice) in the AACP Strategic Plan). The Fellow will conduct educational research in an area pertaining to health professions education and practice innovation and outcomes or the advancement of student learning. Other responsibilities related to the academic and professional affairs work of AACP will also be a part of the fellow’s responsibilities. This 2-year fellowship provides an opportunity to develop academic leadership experience, research, and scholarship skills, and to gain knowledge and skills in the work of the Association. The fellow must be able to work with a team and be motivated and self–directed to complete scholarly components. The Fellow will work in the office at the AACP Headquarters in Arlington, VA.
Technical Skill Requirements:
Ability to independently analyze literature and project data.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Experience with statistical analysis a plus.
Position Relationship to AACP Strategic Plan
Strategic Priority #3 Innovation in Education and Practice
AACP will lead and partner with members and other health professions in the transformation of innovative health professions education and practice. Identifying, communicating, assessing and networking regarding aspects pertaining to Interprofessional Education (IPE) and Interprofessional Practice (IPP) and the transition from IPE to IPP will support and promote the academy on a local national and international scale.
