Description: The position of Donor Services Coordinator (DSC) is primarily responsible for communicating and interacting with future donors and donor families in an effort to determine donor suitability for acceptance into the program as well as placement within the medical research and education community. The DSC facilities the donation process which includes but is not limited to; obtainment and assessment of a detailed medical/social history, acquisition and verification of legal consent, arrangement of donor transport and preparation of documents pertaining to the donation. The role is very multifaceted and requires a high level of critical thinking and thoughtful decision making capabilities. The DSC is responsible for providing the highest level of excellence in support for donor families. The majority of communication within this position takes place via telephone, email and fax. Along with assisting donor families, the DSC will work closely with hospitals, hospice organizations, nursing homes, funeral homes, state medical examiners/coroners and various state run agencies.
