Position/Classification: Part-Time Bilingual (English/Spanish) Community Partnership Specialist
Schedule: 25 Hours per Week
Location: 635 South Clinton Avenue, Trenton, New Jersey 08611
Hourly Rate: $15.50
Educational Requirements: Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Additional education and previous experience in recruiting, training and coordinating volunteers for community-based organizations, charities, etc. is preferred. Experience with marketing, fundraising, program planning, data entry and research helpful. Bilingual (English/Spanish) Written and Spoken Required.
Valid Driver’s license and the ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend hours required.
The Part-Time Bilingual (English/Spanish) Community Partnership Specialist is responsible for parent resource and volunteer development by integrating him/herself into the immediate community and building mutually beneficial relationships with parents, faith community, businesses, advocates, and key stakeholders i.e. schools, service providers, local and county government and other agencies. Works with the community to highlight strengths and identify challenges where resources need to be leveraged and developed to better support and serve its children, youth and families. Plans and delivers center based activities alongside Family Partnership Specialists and members of the Parent Advisory Board.
Startup of employment will include a remote/work from home environment until Covid19 restrictions are lifted. No client contact.
Work Schedule: 25 Hours Per Week - 10am-2pm (flexible) with one late night 1pm-7pm and one Saturday per month
Essential Job Responsibilities and Skills:
Assist with the development of marketing materials (flyers, newsletter, constant contact, etc.) to promote center based activities.
Assists the community in the development of support, services and approach, to address challenges of its families.
Attend community fairs, meetings, and conferences with the purpose of outreach and recruitment.
Empower and support parent leaders and volunteers to strive and foster independence, growth and development.
Identifies the strengths, challenges and service gaps in the community in collaboration with the community partners and parent leaders.
Implements a series of activities in collaboration with community partners and leaders.
Incorporates and implements the Principles of Family Support and the Protective Factors into all aspects of their work.
Monitors parent leaders and volunteers’ schedule and works closely with student interns as needed.
Plans an annual event honoring community representatives, parent leaders and volunteers.
Plans strategies to involve parents, educators, retired professionals, and community leaders as volunteers at their local Family Success Center.
Promote and design activities that enrich cultural diversity at the center. Provides direction to the parent leaders and volunteers and consultation for all volunteer functions.
Reviews and implements new methods for attracting, training, and retaining volunteer staff with the guidance of the Supervisor, Program Director and Director of Volunteerism.
