Avalon Housing is a non-profit supportive housing provider created in 1992 as a long-term solution to homelessness. Avalon owns and operates apartments at sites throughout Ann Arbor, manages rent vouchers with private landlords, and partners with both the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti Housing Commission to provide housing alternatives for formerly homeless adults and families throughout Washtenaw County.
Rapid Re-Housing provides time-limited rental assistance and light case management to individuals who are in need of more short-term assistance to get back on their feet. During their time with our Rapid Re-Housing, case management includes; assisting individuals in developing basic life skills, budgeting, and employment readiness.
Rapid Re-housing promotes choice in housing for individuals within the private rental market. Interventions are designed to reduce barriers to housing and help participants rapidly exit homelessness and maintain stable housing. Service delivery is guided by a Housing First approach, individualized, person-centered housing stability support plans.
The Rapid Rehousing Case Manager will be embedded in the Outreach Team and is responsible for assisting Rapid Re-housing (RRH) clients with finding suitable housing, assisting participants in gathering eligibility documentation as needed, providing housing counseling (including budgeting and preparation for taking on their full rental amount) to RRH participants, landlord engagement, unit inspection and RRH participant file maintenance. This role may also assist with housing searches for other Avalon clients in need of housing options, including referrals through our partnership with SafeHouse Center to rehouse survivors of domestic violence.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required sit for long periods of time, drive a vehicle with passengers, communicate with other persons by talking and hearing, required to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds and to operate computer hardware systems.
