ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Program Coordinator provides oversight and coordinates programming for the assigned program. Programing will directly address residents barriers and enable a smooth transition from homelessness or unstable housing into permanent supportive housing. Works with Program Manager to facilitate development and expansion of services and facility through engaging with the community and building networks. Time is divided between Case Management (30%), leading shift coverage and supervising front line staff (30%), administrative tasks (20%), and schedule management (20%). All responsibilities are conducted in a manner consistent with the spirit of the Compass Housing Alliance mission and its philosophy of care.
ABOUT THE PROGRAMS:
Renton Veterans Center - Providing supported permanent housing for Veterans who are single, couples, and families, our Compass Veterans Center in Renton offers a variety of services for veterans under one roof. Reading groups and art classes for children in our youth center engage young residents, and case management services help adults find the support they need. The program is open to homeless veterans or homeless veterans with families, earning between zero to 60% Area Median Income.

REPORTS TO: Program Manager
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday Days (Off-hours emergency on-call required) plus evenings & weekends as needed
SALARY RANGE: DOE and within Compass ranges
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate daily operations of program.
Hire, train, schedule, and supervise front line staff: regular and relief staff, and interns to insure effective delivery of trauma-informed services.
Provide emergency backup shift coverage when needed.
Provide supportive crisis counseling and case management services to program participants as needed with clearly documented client case notes.
With Program Manager, assure the maintenance of all necessary logs, records, reports, and statistics.
Participate in ongoing training and program development.
Build and maintain a network of community providers/services to address client needs; liaise as required with external partners.
Train and ensure the enforcement of program policies and agency rules.
Provide de-escalation and crisis intervention with clients and, act as a model for front-line staff.
Work in conjunction with other Compass Housing Alliance programs to support agency mission.
Know and understand the contracts and ensures compliance of contracts are being met.
Keep immediate superior promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative courses of action which may be taken.
Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.
Project a favorable image of the organization to promote its aims and objectives and foster and enhance public recognition and acceptance of all its areas of endeavor.
Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field strongly desired, master’s degree a plus; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Minimum of one years’ experience in a human services setting dealing with issues of homelessness or supportive housing, mental illness, substance abuse, employment, domestic violence, etc. strongly desired.
A minimum of 1 years’ experience in direct supervision/management of people, desired.
Familiarity with issues of homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, sexual assault, and/or domestic violence, desired.
