“The Network” is a 501c3 nonprofit organization started in 1991 to:
We seek an Executive Director with proven leadership abilities, a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, experience working with predominantly volunteer organizations, and the ability to expand the Network’s impact in Winchester and beyond.
*Serve as Executive Director to continue: deepening and broadening the Network’s impact; building a strong, well-functioning community-based organization; and diversifying the Network’s funding and volunteer base.
*Provide leadership and management to effectively develop and implement strategic plans for the achievement of the Network’s vision and goals.
*Work in partnership with the Network’s Board of Directors to guide policy and advocacy decisions.
*Advocacy: Represent the Network and its vision of community inclusiveness, both as the leader and public face of the Network and in partnership with Board members, volunteers, community advisors, and other community organizations.
*Marketing and public outreach: Ensure coordinated publicity for all Network events. Oversee activities to build awareness of the Network’s programs; maintain and build relationships with elected officials, funders, media, schools, civic and religious organizations, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
* Committees’ Oversight: Oversee and coordinate the Network’s operational committees and lead them in planning and program evaluation to achieve the Networks’ vision and goals.
*Programming: Research and identify potential new or expanded program areas and oversee consistent application of the current or improved detailed protocol for programs.
*Office management and staffing: Manage office systems; hire and supervise staff; oversee administrative responsibilities; and ensure the recruitment and coordination of volunteers.
*Grant writing and fundraising: Identify and cultivate funding sources including individuals: prepare or review grant applications and funding proposals; manage grant compliance and reporting; and oversee other fundraising activities.
*Budgeting: Develop the annual budget with inputs from the Committees and Treasurer for approval by the Board.
*Business Management: Tracking income and expenses within QuickBooks; comfort with online bill payment and report running.
*Professional development: Commit to ongoing personal and organizational diversity and social justice training with VISIONS, Inc and others.
*Reporting: Communicate regularly with the Board President and report monthly to the Board. Attend committee meetings as deemed necessary, and regularly convene meetings of the leadership team.
Desired Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
*Ability to manage all aspects of a non-profit organization, including: supervision of employees and volunteers; and oversight of office space, communications, and contract agreements.
*Evidence of having a passion for social activism, integrity, and a positive attitude: and of being mission-driven, collaborative, creative, and highly organized.
*Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking (i.e. persuasive and compassionate).
*Ability to wear many hats and multitask.
*Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact professionally, warmly and openly in individual and group settings with a diverse range of people of different races, ethnicities, abilities, nationalities, ages, genders, gender identity, sexual orientation, and class.
*Experience working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, such as Board members, volunteers, local government officials, and NGOs.
*Proven ability to secure funding for special programs and general operations, including grant writing and compliance.
*Experience with marketing and public relations.
*Knowledge of literature and research on diversity, equity and inclusion topics and of the work of other social justice organizations.
*Computer, website, internet, and social media skills including use of presentation, spreadsheet and composition applications, Constant Contact, Facebook, blogs, video/DVD projection, and sound projection.
Hours and Compensation:
* 40-hour, full-time position, with schedule flexibility to permit night meetings, weekend workshops or programs.
* Salary in the range of 60K commensurate with experience, plus leave benefits and a generous allowance toward health insurance.
