Weekly substitute teacher to fill in for teachers during Staff Meetings
Substitute Preschool Teacher
Starting Aug. 21st, staff meeting will be every week on Tuesdays. The shift will be from 1:45-4:15. The meetings run from 2-4pm. 15 minutes are allowed for on either side for transition.
We also have frequent subbing needs, and are looking for persons to add to our sub list. We like to keep a small list of frequently used, what we call "regular" subs, for consistency and quality of our program.
Our hours are 7:30am-5:30pm with several shifts that fall into those hours. An early care position that starts at 7:30am, a Core Teacher position that runs from 8:30pm-1:45pm, After Care positions that begin at 1pm as well as support staff that float into the middle of the day.
Beth Ami Community Nursery School (BACNS) is committed to quality early childhood education. We believe each child is unique and approaches learning in a variety of ways. We strive to present a warm and nurturing program that teaches the whole child - socially, physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually.
Responsibilities to be shared with co-teachers in a team-work model will include but will not be limited to the following:
-Foster a nurturing and stimulating environment which reflects respect, compassion, a sense of community, and a willingness to gently guide children.
-Support children in their growth, socially, intellectually, and emotionally.
-Gear the program to the needs of the individual child with concerns for his/her interests, individual style, and stage of development; and to the class as a group. Help each child to become aware of his/her role as a member of the group, while reinforcing positive self-esteem, as well as consciously promoting a diverse and inclusive atmosphere.
-Depending on length of subbing job, may be asked to plan, implement, reflect upon, and document developmentally appropriate curriculum.
-Have a comfort with integrating Jewish culture, language, and values into the curriculum in an age-appropriate way.
-Ensure the health and safety of the children including continuous supervision.
-Maintain professional standards and conduct and a positive work ethic.
-Respect confidentiality of school-related information.
-Perform other duties, as requested by supervisor.
Must be professionally prepared as a teacher of young children with a minimum of 9 ECE or CD units and the demonstrated ability to perform all job responsibilities as described in the Teacher job description.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Proficient command of the English language for effective communication
Depends on experience and education with a range of $14.00-$16.75

Free child care may be available, space depending, on the day requested or scheduled for subbing.
If you wish for your child to be enrolled full time, and you are working as a regularly scheduled staff member, (IE: this weekly scheduled sub position) you will receive a 50% discount. If you are on our subbing list, but not regularly scheduled, you receive a 20% discount.
