DEPARTMENT 1: The goal of the Academic Affairs (AA)program is to give students the academic support necessary to graduate from high school college-ready and college-eligible. For most students, this means a GPA of 3.0 or higher and an ACT math score of 22 or higher. Academic Affairs Coaches support and monitor a caseload of students toward outcomes. Coaches own one or more of the following direct service responsibilities:
All coaches provide academic advising, connect with students and families, and input, monitor and analyze student data against organizational goals. Coaches join a collaborative, social justice-oriented community committed to holistic student support. The AA team will be hiring 3 coaches; coachesmust be available 1:30 - 7:00PM Monday - Thursday; Summer schedule hours vary
DEPARTMENT 2:The goal of the College Completion (CC)program is to ensure that students matriculate to college, and ultimately graduate with their bachelor’s degrees. Our CC team achieves this by providing targeted college exposure, support, and guidance in all aspects related to college so students can go to the best college/university for them and graduate with minimal student loan debt. College Completion Support Coaches will coordinate, lead, and support workshops, field trips, and other programming focused on college exposure, college applications, and financial aid; provide one-on-one support to students completing college-related tasks and follow up as needed; support and monitor a caseload of students toward outcomes; and other duties as assigned. The CC team will be hiring 2 coaches.
DEPARTMENT 3:The goal of the Student Life(SL) program is to develop purpose-driven leaders of change by providing students the opportunity to create their narratives, engage in their communities, and turn their passions into actions. All students will feel connected to a community by engaging in service projects and experiential learning opportunities. Student Life Student Support Coaches may create and lead enrichment workshops; plan and chaperone field trips; facilitate resume and application workshops; plan site-wide student talent showcase events; design activities to help students develop non-cognitive skills; ensure that students gain professional experience; seek out opportunities for student engagement with the Oakland community and beyond; communicate the importance of service-learning and summer activities to families; and other duties as assigned. ***The SL team will hire 1-2 coaches and this coach must pass a driver clearance test. Summer hours vary, during the school year must be generally available from 3:30-7PM, M-TH and Fridays in the early afternoon.***
