We operate accredited early learning, elementary, and out of school time programs grounded in research-based curricula and high-quality instruction. We have built on our portfolio of early learning centers to expand this transformative culture into a birth to eighth grade school composed of an Early Childhood and Elementary School. The school is creating unprecedented collaboration between early childhood and elementary educators as well as family support programs. In addition, it will provide foundational exposure during the earliest years of life to our culture of high expectations and academic excellence
Responsibilities: Assist in the provision of social work services to low-income children and families with the basic goal of enhancing their abilities to function independently. The Social Worker will provide head start mental health services as assigned. Participate in staffing by making observations of the child and obtaining and sharing relevant family background information.
Conduct intake screenings of new families and individual clients from Christopher House programs, in coordination with the Clinical Supervisor of SWS. Make observations and assessments of children and their families. Contribute to the development of the treatment plan(s) and by implementing the clinical portion of the plan. Provide individual, family and group therapy to children, adolescents and their families. Decide frequency, focus and duration of counseling on a case by case basis. Provide consultation to Teachers and to Christopher House staff members regarding specific children and specific treatment issues. Make home visits to clients when appropriate. Provide Head Start mental health consultation as assigned.
Manage each case, with necessary documentation including outcome evaluation data and casework activity summaries.
Qualifications: Minimum of two years of experience in a social service agency providing individual and family therapy. Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
Master’s Degree in Social Work or a Master of Science in Counseling required.
