Residential Assistant - Joe’s Place - Forensic $14.40/hr Closing Date: 12/25/17
P/T 16hr/wk position teaching daily living skills for service recipients in an apartment setting located in Norwich under the jurisdiction of PSRB. Hours: Saturday & Sunday 9am to 5pm.
Position require a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or equivalent work experience in the provision of mental health services and valid driver’s license.
Engage and support members with participation in residential, recovery oriented activities, recreational, social, and community events.
Teach skills that support members with daily living skills and meeting daily living needs such as shopping, laundry, housekeeping, transportation, etc.
Implement designated goal activities in coordination with the Service Coordinator or Director/Coordinator.
Provide crisis intervention supports.
Conduct light: housekeeping, disinfecting, yard maintenance and snow removal on sidewalks and emergency exits.
Provide emotional support to members.
Monitor member’s physical and mental health and report relevant information to the service coordinator or Director/Coordinator.
Document interactions in the Program’s Communication Log.
Provide coverage as needed at any of the Agency sites per Agency need
Engage in continuous concerted efforts to access, obtain, respond to pertinent agency information/communications and disseminate as appropriate
Provide working conditions that maximize safety for staff and program participants.
Maintain CPR/FA Certification
Other responsibilities of Reliance Health staff, such as participation in Agency events, adhering to Agency Policies and procedures, training requirements, etc.
Perform duties while demonstrating Agency Core Competencies and values
Position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and valid driver’s license. Work experience in the provision of mental health preferred.
