This position could be located in one of several SPLC offices, depending on personal circumstances and SPLC needs.
SPLC’s Criminal Justice Reform Practice Group is dedicated to reducing the number of juveniles, adults, and immigrants detained and incarcerated in the Deep South. All of SPLC’s states fall within the top ten nationally in rates of incarceration. The Regional Policy Analyst is responsible for conducting fact and policy research; reviewing and analyzing data; developing policy recommendations to reduce juvenile and adult jail and prison populations and reduce immigrant detention, while improving; public safety; and working with colleagues to advocate for the implementation of those recommendations in each of SPLC’s states.
