  Job Description

The Database Administrator’s role is to supervise and maintain the configuration and support of the ministry’s customer relationship management (CRM) software through established best practices, serving to bridge the gap between the system and user’s needs. This person will analyze and resolve CRM program issues and create/distribute procedures for data quality. The Database Administrator will also guide and assist all users with issues of usability and reliability, including but not limited to: system/user administration, user security management, data hygiene, user training, custom entity design and development, and stability of CRM software critical to ministry operations.

 

Major Elements: 

Database Operational Oversight:

  • Planning and Support: Work with key leadership to determine ministry objectives. Create the necessary steps to achieve these results and ensure the user community complies with such directives.

  • Administration: Administer CRM security, maintain appropriate data-level security, and ensure sensitive data is kept secure to maintain all required standards as: PCI, GAAP, and SOX requirements for donor privacy.

  • Training: Formulate and conduct training sessions and teaching materials for propagating CRM knowledge throughout the organization.

  • Data Integrity: Devise, coordinate, and conduct data-hygiene procedures to ensure good data throughout the CRM database. Investigate and correct fields that have become outdated. Help guide the teams for processing, e-commerce and other points of desired integration for SharePoint, Outlook, Integrated forms, VBA usage for Word or other common Office applications.

    CRM Strategy, Planning & Customization

  • Strategy and Alignment: Ensure that CRM applications meet ministry objectives, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve ministry requirements issues; Gather, analyze, and define end user requirements for CRM data access and usability in accordance with ministry objectives; Assist in the creation of long-term objectives for achieving and maintaining high data quality in conjunction with CRM users, department managers, clients, and other key stakeholders.

  • Best Practices: Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated plans for CRM software administration, user security, team functionality, and other appropriate use.

  • Extending and Light Customizations: Ability to make customizations using “Custom Entities” within the Studio Enterprise, or externally as needed but ideally without the need for large-scale application development; integration with PDF or Word Forms that “talk” to the database will be very useful.

     

    Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent; or minimum of (5) five years related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Additional Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5 or more years direct experience in all aspects of managing CRM applications, Donor Direct’s Studio Enterprise preferable.

    • Required: CRM experience , MS Windows XP – Win 10, Mac iOS, Smart Phones, MS SQL Server 2008, Exchange 2010, MS Office 2010, MS SharePoint

    • Suggested: Track-IT, Backup Exec

  • Direct, hands-on experience with automated software management tools.

  • Understanding database schemas and strong knowledge of TSQL, and SSRS.

  • Strong knowledge of CRM software quality assurance best practices and methodologies; knowledge of donor development, sales, marketing, business processes and how they related to the CRM system.

  • Strong knowledge of data management, including data capture, warehousing, segmentation, mining, storing, cleansing, and security.

  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws, PCI, SOX, etc

     

    Character/Spiritual Qualities:  Possess a desire to actively minister to others within and outside the ministry; whether they are vendors, constituents, partners or volunteers. As such, each team member is called to actively impact others with biblical principles for Christian living through sharing in prayer, scripture references, biblical illustrations, and personal testimony.
