ABOUT EDUCATION OPENS DOORS:

Education Opens Doors (EOD) is an innovative education non-profit committed to empowering historically underrepresented students to purposefully navigate through high school to college. Nationally, 95% of underserved middle school students aspire to go to college, yet only 8% attain their Bachelor’s degree within 6 years. EOD fills a unique niche by implementing the Roadmap to Success Program in the middle school grades to increase students’ college knowledge and attainability.

Since our inception in 2012, EOD has grown from two to nine team members, established more than 75 partnerships with schools and nonprofits, and empowered over 23,500 students across Texas.

 

MANAGER OF PARTNERSHIPS POSITION SUMMARY

The Education Opens Doors team is seeking a Manager of Partnerships to join our highly motivated and collaborative Dallas-based team.

As a member of the Impact Manager team, you will be a key leader in planning, organizing, and executing regional and state partnership expansion for the Roadmap to Success program. The Manager of Partnerships will build relationships with decision makers, represent and promote the Roadmap to Success program to the community at large, and cultivate new partnerships.

In the first year of the position, the Manager of Partnerships will fulfill the duties of an Impact Manager and manage 5-6 established partnerships in order to understand the program and increase effectiveness in partnership procurement. Impact Managers serve as the lead contact to partners and are responsible for supervising the effective implementation of the Roadmap to Success Program. Following the first year in the position, the Manager of Partnerships will evolve into a full-time partnership role with the opportunity for advancement to Director of Strategic Partnerships, which will require occasional work-related travel.

In addition, you will advise the Curriculum team on marketing trends, competitive developments, and product improvement opportunities in the field. The Manager of Partnerships will report to the Director of Programs as well as collaborate with the Executive Director on strategic partnerships.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, organize, and prioritize partnership strategies to achieve established partnership targets

  • Develop and maintain a strategic plan for every school in assigned districts utilizing Salesforce
  • Generate realistic partnership targets for both our mission and organizational sustainability
  • Create strategic plans for new prospects and develop digital presentations for procurement
  • Develop retention plans and effectively leverage Impact Manager Team to achieve partnership renewals
  • Collaborate with Director of Programs to achieve district and school partnership objectives

Represent and promote program to all prospective partners to achieve and/or exceed established goals

  • Conduct prospecting calls and face to face meetings with decision makers
  • Deliver strong, compelling presentations of the Roadmap to Success program package
  • Create lasting relationships with key decision makers and teachers across assigned schools
  • Attend conferences and evaluate partnership opportunities as appropriate

Manage partnership communications and reporting

  • Exhibit proficient use of technology communication tools
  • Update and maintain partnership database (Salesforce)
  • Report to Director of Programs as required
  • Fulfill team support roles as required
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively as required
  • Support event and fundraiser execution as needed

Supervise the effective implementation of the Roadmap to Success Program

  • Cultivate positive relationships with school administrators and program teachers
  • Prepare and deliver program orientation presentation to teachers (“train the trainer”)
  • Manage logistics for the successful program launch and close of assigned program sites
  • Conduct ongoing program site visits and track lesson observations for program fidelity
  • Provide meaningful, timely support to teachers throughout academic year
  • Lead meetings with principals to prospect and secure future partnerships

Collaborate with the Impact Manager team to grow the impact of the program and organization

  • Obtain feedback from teachers, students, administrators, and other stakeholders
  • Drive program goals and results by making data-informed decisions
  • Document implementation (photos, video, etc.) and best practices
  • Collaborate with Curriculum Team to continuously evaluate and improve curriculum
  • Support the Data and Evaluation Specialist with delivery and collection of student, teacher, administrator, and parent assessments and surveys

QUALIFICATIONS & MINDSETS

Required Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree
  • At least two (2) years of successful sales, partnership procurement, or relevant experience
  • Direct sales, marketing or editorial experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well with both external and internal contacts
  • Demonstrated success in influencing and motivating decision makers
  • Demonstrated success in generating sustainable partnerships and collaborations
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Box, Salesforce, Google Drive
  • Availability to work occasional nights and weekends as well as some domestic travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in education or with educators
  • Experience working with underrepresented communities in various demographic backgrounds (race, ethnicity, gender, class, etc.)
  • Familiarity with timely issues affecting education, including the opportunity gap, access to resources, district zoning, and large district politics
