P.A.C.E. seeks an individual interested in volunteering at a small afterschool program for elementary school students ages 4-8. This unpaid internship has a possibility of turning into a paid employment after one school year. This position is a great opportunity for someone interested in working directly with inner city youth. The P.A.C.E. Straight A's Initiative focuses on Arts, Academics, Athletics, Awareness, Achievement programs. P.A.C.E. three main elements are Academic Support, Social Development and Cultural Awareness.
• Develop and instruct cultural awareness activities for children and youth, including short-term and long-term plans for the class.
• Provide documented lesson plans for all activities specifically cultural art projects, and P.A.C.E. achievement.
Take the lead in developing weekly cultural activities and oversee the monthly cultural celebrations
Intern will be responsible for helping to organize the two extravaganzas
Intern will make sure all cultural arts and pace achievement activities are coordinated appropriately, students are engaged, participating and are safe in addition to overseeing art supplies and materials as needed i.e. paint, crafts, etc.
Most importantly help in support the day to day operations of the afterschool and collaborate with colleague i.e. paperwork, cleanup, office duties, transitions, etc.
