Technical System Manager

We Teach Science Foundation is an education-focused not-for-profit working to enrich the educational experience of students struggling academically. We run remote in-school mentoring programs for middle and high school students focusing on math and science education. We Teach Science Foundation was founded in December 2008 with the mission to “motivate, inspire and mentor American public school students (age K-12) to achieve excellence in the disciplines of math and science.”

We Teach Science is currently looking for an eager, self-starter to join the organization to manage and grow the systems and platforms on which we run our business. This full time position involves managing and developing real time collaborative tools including a CRM, website and customized whiteboard with VOP. We are looking for an individual who is motivated to solve challenging problems with a love of learning and a hunger to try new things. This role is ideal for a technically focused individual who likes challenges and is looking to gain experience with system administration and database management. This role offers a real opportunity for growth and advancement for an enthusiastic, motivated person.

Required Skills, Experience and Abilities:

  • Solid understanding of computer operating systems, network requirements, and system integration, performance, and automation
  • CRM database administration experience required

  • Experience with Salesforce Administration

  • Experience with network administration

  • Able to troubleshoot multi-platform system issues in real-time

  • Able to multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Project Management experience a plus

  • Good communicator, who can collaborate with technical and non-technical partners effectively

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage data in Salesforce

  • Network and Systems Administration including planning and coordinating system upgrades

  • Manage IT projects in multi system environment

  • Work with system developers and contractors to engage in joint project planning

  • Liaise with School Districts and Corporate Partners to resolve tech issues in connecting to our mentoring platform

  • Website management with WordPress, Google Apps, Adobe Connect etc.

    • Manage data Quality Assurance: development of SOPs, data audits & clean up, proactive troubleshooting

  • Administer user system access and establish standards and basic requirements for data security

    • Evaluate data handling and storage policies to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning.

Other items:

  • Must have transportation– program related travel will be reimbursed

  • Tech Project Coordinator will work from the WTSF office in Burlingame and have the option to work from home occasionally
