Openings for afterschool leaders for Fitness Fun & Games, MSDE-licensed, school age programs located in Baltimore City schools, in sip codes 21230, 21223, 21224, 21212 and 21214.
2:00 - 6:30 p.m., M-F, with some variations on starting and ending times, and with the possibility of working less than 5 days a week. Job openings may also be available for morning hours, 6:30 - 8 (or 8:30) a.m.
Programs serve ages 4 to 14, with the majority of students between 5 and 10 years old.
Depending on your interests and talents, staff are responsible for planning and implementing activities such as sports, games, music, art, dance, drama, reading science, language, fitness, nutrition, etc.
Includes outdoor activities, homework time, snack and/or supper for children.
Must be patient, responsible, have reliable transportation, and be able to commit to working on school days until mid-June.
Developing relationships with children is important in afterschool programs. Do not apply unless you are prepared to follow through on being very dependable.
Prefer staff with coursework in child development and curriculum or a plan to complete these within 6 months.
Great experience for majors in child development, education, family studies, social work, etc.
May count for college credit as an internship, field experience, independent study, or practicum.
Summer work hours may also be available.
